Ellen was born 26 June 1876 (birth certificate number 1876/14371) in Te Kopuru in the northern Kaipara region.

On 16 November 1883, in the family home on Nelson Street, Auckland Ellen dies, aged 7 (Death Certificate number 1883/4759). A notice was published in both the New Zealand Herald on 10 December 1883 and the Auckland Star on 8 December 1883 which reads;

PARKER – On November 16, at her parents residence, Nelson Street, Ellen, the only and beloved daughter of John and Elizabeth Parker, aged 7 years and 5 months. [Northern Wairoa papers please copy].
