Not much is known of his childhood other than we could expect it to be much the same as other children at the time in Queensland, Australia.

Tragically on 6 July 1904, fifteen days before his ninth birthday Harold dies (Death Certificate number B004745). We currently do not have any records as to the cause of his death.
